Hi Travel Lovers-leave your germs at home.

Whether you’re traveling for work or pleasure, germs don't discriminate. According to the National Library of Medicine, “More than 4.5 billion individual air journeys are made every year, increasing the risk of disease spread beyond the local area as passengers travel from coast to coast and continent to continent.” (1, 2).

As a million plus miler and someone who flies weekly, I can tell you firsthand, planes are not very clean. As much as the major airlines try, they are just unable to support cleaning every surface as you move through airports to airplanes. 

That said, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), “Handwashing is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family from getting sick.” (3). However, you don’t always have access to a bathroom. The CDC also notes that sanitizer is an alternative, however “Sanitizers do not get rid of all types of germs. (3)
